NSW Solar Bonus Scheme ending: Moree information workshop this month

Do your premises currently receive a 60c or 20c subsidised feed-in tariff?

Did you know that the NSW Solar Bonus Scheme is coming to a close at the end of the 2016 year?

To provide information to affected premises, the NSW Department of Industry (in collaboration with local partners) is hosting an Energy Opportunity Workshop in Moree on December 12, 2016.

Moree householders and business operators are encouraged to attend the workshop to learn how to maintain their solar systems to maximise benefits and find ways to become more energy efficient to minimise power bills.

Council’s general manager Lester Rodgers explained independent energy experts would be at the workshop to provide information on how the changes to the feed-in tariff will affect residents and business owners and the steps they need to take in the wake of the bonus scheme closure.

“The workshop will help residents and property owners understand the different metering arrangements and benefits as well as emerging technologies to consider, including battery storage and electricity monitoring devices.

“The changes to the feed-in tariff for electricity will affect everyone with solar panels and steps need to be taken before the state government’s solar bonus scheme comes to an end, if they want to minimise their power bills,” Mr Rodgers said.

The Moree Workshop is on Monday, December 12from 5.30pm in the Banquet Hall (on the north side of the Memorial Hall) on Balo Street, Moree.
