3 December – Jellicoe Park Markets
Head to Jellicoe Park and look for something unique, quirky and fresh at the Moree Markets on the first Sunday of each month. New stall holders are always welcome just send a text message to 0487 429 469 with a request for a site (include size), and turn up on Sunday after 6am with a copy of your public liability insurance and you will be allocated a site to showcase your wares.
9 & 10 December – Weekend of Festive Fun
The main streets of Moree are set to come alive with free street entertainment from buskers to the Moree Town Band, and participating retailers open for extended trading Saturday and Sunday.
12 December – Nominations close for Moree Plains Australia Day Awards
Show your appreciation for an individual or group that has made a significant voluntary contribution to the Moree Plains community. Residents can submit nominations for Citizens of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Event/Group of the Year and Sports Person of the Year. Nomination Forms are located on Council’s website or by contacting Moree Lions Club on (02) 6752 1266. Send applications to email@example.com
13 December 5pm-9pm – Christmas at Twilight
Mark the calendar for this year’s community carols at Ron Harborne Oval. Enjoy the entertainment by the Moree Town Band, Community Choir, school children and many others. Food and beverages are available for purchase. Event concludes with fireworks.
15 December – EIS opportunity closes
The Moree Plains community is encouraged to view the Inland Rail EIS which is on display as part of the planning approval process and learn about the project, the potential impacts and how ARTC and NSW Planning and Environmental Department propose to manage these impacts during construction of the Inland Rail between Narrabri and North Star.

22 December – Applications close for financial assistance
Moree Plains Shire Council is calling for applications from individuals and community, sporting and educational groups wishing to apply for financial assistance for events, functions and sponsorship. Applicants must complete and submit a Public Donations Application Form no later than 22 December 2017 for Public Donations for the period from January to March 2018. Hard copies of the application form are available at the Moree Community Library and Council offices at Moree, Boggabilla and Mungindi, by phoning the Executive Office on (02) 6757 3237 or via email firstname.lastname@example.org

Summer Reading Club
Game On – Supercharge Your Summer! Get ready for a summer celebration of sports, games, technology and team spirit. Moree Community Library’s Summer Reading Club (SRC) starts 1 December until 31 January. Collect your SRC packs from 1 December and RSVP for the SRC party held on 31 January from 3pm.
5 & 12 December – Big Sky’s Little Readers
This book club meets weekly on Tuesdays at 3.30pm to read stories from the Library’s junior collections and make cool craft. Aimed at children in Kindergarten to Grade 2.
6 December – Book Blasters
This book club meets fortnightly on Wednesdays at 3.30pm to explore books, stories and characters, and share what we’re reading, making, watching and discovering. Aimed at children in Grades 3 to 6.
29 November & 13 December – Code Club
Computer coding sessions for kids aged 8+. Create games and animations while learning the basics of coding. Meets fortnightly on Wednesdays – Beginners from 3.30pm and Returners from 4.30pm.
4 & 18 December – Knit and Natter
Enjoy the cool of the Library and join in the chatter while you clicky-clack with needles at the Knit and Natter group. Bring your own materials and ideas for projects – held fortnightly on Mondays at 2.00pm (except public holidays).
10.30am Tuesdays – Storytime (ends 12/12/17)
Pre-schoolers and their carers enjoy Storytime and craft activities. Last session will be held on Tuesday 12 December.
10.30am Thursdays – Babybounce (ends 14/12/17)
A session of interactive rhymes and movement aimed at infants aged 6 weeks to 2 year olds and their careers. Last session will be held on Thursday 14 December.
