Moree residents urged to seek COVID-19 testing
NORTHERN Tablelands MP Adam Marshall is urging Moree residents to seek testing for COVID-19, after a confirmed case travelled through the town while potentially infectious between 3 June and 4 June.
The case drove from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, stopping at places in Gillenbah, Forbes, Dubbo and Moree and signed in to several venues using QR codes.
Mr Marshall said the individual spent two nights in Moree and visited a number of hospitality venues.
“It is incredibly important that the people of Moree seek testing for COVID-19 at the onset of even the mildest of cold-like symptoms,” Mr Marshall said.
The existing clinic at Moree Hospital will be open tomorrow from 8.15am to 6pm and at 9am a drive-through testing clinic will commence at the Gateway site. Access is only from the Newell Highway onto Blueberry Road.
“In response to this potential exposure, the health district is also working to increase its capacity for testing.
“Residents should monitor the NSW Government’s website and social media for updates on testing clinics and COVID-19 case locations.
“COVID-19 symptoms include, fever (37.5 ° or higher), cough, sore throat, shortness of breath (difficulty breathing), runny nose, loss of taste and loss of smell.
“Everyone must immediately come forward for testing if any of these symptoms appear, then isolate until a negative result is received.”
NSW Health is continuing to investigate the movements of this case in rural and regional NSW, and this list of venues and times will be updated.
Anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed must immediately get tested and isolate until they receive further information from NSW Health:

As Parliament is sitting this week, Mr Marshall has also had an urgent briefing and discussion with health Minister Brad Hazzard, seeking extra resources for testing and for vaccinating.
“This potential risk highlights the need for everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated to sign up and get their jab as quick as they can,” Mr Marshall said.
