Moree motel room searched: drugs, cash seized

OFFICERS attached to Barwon Local Area Command have executed a search warrant at Moree.

At around 7.30am on Saturday, July 30, officers executed a search warrant without incident at a motel room in Moree.

A quantity of cash and illegal drugs was located during the search and seized for examination.

A 48-year-old local man, who was present at the search, has been charged with Deal with property suspected proceeds of crime and Possess prohibited drug. He will be required to appear before Moree Local Court on 5 September 2016.Police003

Enquiries are continuing.

Barwon Local Area Command Crime Manager, Detective Inspector David Silversides said “the disruption of drug networks in the Command is of high priority to our Police and this is the forth search warrant this month for the Moree Sector”.

“We encourage members of the community to take a proactive stance and supply information to us so that we can build upon it and take action – no piece of information should be considered too small or insignificant – it is often a small piece of information which others may assume we are aware of that can form the missing link”.
