2 October – Jellicoe Park Markets
Head to Jellicoe Park and look for something unique, quirky and fresh at the Moree Markets on the first Sunday of each month. Enjoy the colourful outdoor market scene set amongst shady trees surrounded by grassy parkland.
You will find a variety of treasures, local craft and jewellery, plants and home wares, poultry, sample delectable foods, and buy fresh produce for the table. There are a variety of children’s activities and places to buy coffee and breakfast. From time-to-time there is local entertainment and music.
New stall holders are always welcome just send a text message to 0487 429 469 with a request for a site (include size) or find us online www.facebook.com/moreemarkets then turn up on Sunday after 6am with a copy of your public liability insurance and you will be allocated a site to showcase your wares.
3 October – Landfill and Waste Services
The kerbside garbage and recycling collection will be as normal; however there will be changes to landfill operations. The Moree Waste Management Facility will be open 9am-1pm; Mungindi and other village landfills will be closed.
22 October – Garage Sale Trail
The day exists to help people sell their unwanted stuff, hone the skills of bargain hunters, reuse and rethink the idea of what waste really is. Jump online www.garagesaletrail.com.au

October – Mental Health Awareness Month
Manage your wellbeing with a new collection of books endorsed by health professionals. Books on Prescription provide helpful information and step-by-step self-help techniques for managing common conditions including depression, anxiety, stress and eating disorders. The new collection will be officially launched as a part of Mental Health Awareness Month, date to be announced. Keep an eye on the Library website, or enquire at your next visit, for further details.
17 & 31 October 2pm – Knit and Natter
Enjoy the warmth of the Library and join in the chatter while you clicky-clack with needles at the Knit and Natter group. Bring your own materials and ideas for projects – held second and fourth Mondays (except public holidays).

19 October (continues fortnightly) 3:30pm – Book Blasters
Activities for young people in Years 3-6 – Don’t fancy books? – blast that attitude and be delightfully surprised by the fun and games. (Operates during school term, new members are always welcome but should pre-book with Library staff)
12 & 26 October (continues fortnightly) 3:30pm – Code Club
Workshop for youth aged 8+ and focuses on programming skills to create computer games and animations. (Operates during school term, must pre-book with Library staff)
Tuesdays
10.30am – Storytime for pre-schoolers and their carers. Enjoy stories and craft activities (during school term and repeats on Thursday).

3.30pm – Big Sky’s Little Readers – Young people in kindergarten-grade 2 are invited to join in as we read stories from the Library’s junior collections and make cool craft. Members also get to see new books and have first opportunity to borrow them (Operates during school term, new members are always welcome but should pre-book with Library staff)
Thursdays
10.30am – Baby Bounce is an interactive session which includes finger play, stories, song, dance and rhymes for babies, parents and carers (during school term).
11am – Storytime for pre-schoolers and their carers. Enjoy stories and craft activities (during school term, a repeat of Tuesday’s session).
Reading Passport Challenge
The Challenge supports young people in their ongoing engagement with reading. Sign up today, record the number of books read and there could be a reward!
Teens Turning Pages
