Excellence in Service Awards for MPSC
MAYOR Katrina Humphries presented Moree Plains Shire Council’s annual Excellence in Service Awards at a ceremony on Saturday and acknowledged the devotion and service that those who were nominated portrayed to their colleagues and community.
Congratulations to the following council staff who were honoured for their outstanding achievements.
Internal Customer Service
Brendon Simmons, Elisha Bridge and Holly Ireland were nominated by their peers for providing excellent assistance and support to fellow employees so they can achieve their work requirements.
Anub Nair, Collin Andrews, Norman Duke, Brendon Simmons and Alice Colbran received the most nominations from their peers for regularly presenting themselves in a manner that reflects a high standard of professionalism including behaviour, communication and adherence to uniform.
System (or process) Improvement Award
This award was presented to Matthew Moore, Joel Ballin, Noeline Atterbury, Sharon Single, Sarah Annis-Brown and Renee McMillan who volunteered and trained to become internal drug and alcohol testers in the workplace. Council successfully implemented random drug and alcohol testing into the organisation to improve safety outcomes. These employees receive no additional reimbursement for the role they took on.

Big Sky Libraries 60th Birthday
The Project Team consisted of – Svetlana Aksenova, Clare Gately, Thomas Sharples, Sarah Dean, Samantha Geatches. Special mention must be made of our recently resigned Cooperative Library Manager, Mrs Sally Walters and also our Big Sky partner, Ms Belinda Colless (Director Corporate Services – Brewarrina Shire).
Moree ANZAC Centenary Memorial
The Project Team consisted of – Greg Fisher, Sam Martin, Laura Colley, Rebel Woodham, Carly Cosh and Libby Carter. They were assisted by Councillor John Tramby OAM and also Mrs Lila Fisher in her capacity representing RSL Sub Branch.
Diploma of Work Health and Safety – Self Funded Education Program
The Project Team consisted of – Adriana Pippos, Sarah Annis-Brown, Noeline Atterbury, Jeremy James, Daniel Williams, David McMahon, Kelly James, Shane Faulkner, Carmel Kennedy, Anub Nair, John Carleton, Mitchell Johnson and Debby Baxter-Tomkins.
2015 Family Fun Day and Staff Recognition Awards
The Project Team consisted of – Tess Smith, Laura Colley, Carly Cosh, Alice Colbran, Debby Baxter-Tomkins and Kim Hurle.
