Damage caused during Moree business premises break-in
POLICE are appealing for information from the public following break-ins at two Moree businesses early Wednesday morning.
A stolen vehicle was used by the unknown offenders to gain entry to a Frome Street business on at around 3.45am.
The vehicle was stolen from a business on the outskirts of town and driven into the street access of the building, causing considerable damage however no property was stolen.
The stolen vehicle was recovered in Wirrila Street.
“Residents are reminded that Moree Police are available 24 hours a day – do not wait until the morning to report incidents of crime of suspicious activity in your area,” Barwon LAC superintendent Paul McDonald said
Meanwhile, in the Bingara region, a 34-year-old male is in hospital after he was struck by a vehicle at around midnight, Monday.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Cunningham and Maitland Streets, Bingara, where a male had been pinned against a brick wall leaving him with a fractured leg.
Police are investigating the events leading up to the incident which allegedly involved an altercation between several people in the area.
Police would like to speak to any persons who were in the area who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
