$10,000 scholarships open for local early childhood teachers
DIPLOMA-qualified early childhood educators in Moree and district are encouraged to apply for the next round of the NSW Government’s Rural and Remote Early Childhood Education Scholarships.
Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall urged all eligible early childhood teachers in the region to consider applying for the scholarship.
“This $10,000 scholarship program has already seen 109 wonderful early childhood educators upskill to earn their Bachelor’s qualifications in early childhood teaching,” Mr Marshall said.
“The scholarships are available to eligible candidates working in a rural or remote community preschool, mobile preschool or long day care service.

“If you are an early childhood educator that meets the regional and rural criteria, hold your diploma and haven’t as yet started a degree, then I encourage you to consider applying.”
Mr Marshall said the importance of quality early childhood education could not be underestimated, as it gave children the very best start in life.
“Upskilling early childhood educators brings new skills into our local childcare facilities and means children are even better prepared for the transition to school,” he said.
“These scholarships are flexible and can be used for a number of costs incurred during studies. This could include textbooks, travel costs, technology to support study, or course fees. How recipients use their scholarship is up to them – every student is different and how they study also varies.
“Many degrees are now delivered online meaning future student educators are more able to fit study around work and family commitments.”
